Thank you for joining us for our 2023 online art auction! This year we have teamed up with some of the best local artists to repurpose string instruments into beautiful works of art. We hope you enjoy perusing these art pieces and will soon have one displayed in your home for years to come, knowing you helped young musicians in Athens gain access to individualized high-quality music education, right in their public school classroom.
HEART Music is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Athens, GA whose mission is to make the virtues of music education accessible to all communities in Athens-Clarke County, with an emphasis on supporting local public school music programs.
What makes our program important? We hire the highest quality musicians to teach public school students at no cost to the students or schools, and our teaching takes place at school during class time, eliminating financial, transportation and scheduling barriers to music education. Our teachers primarily teach classical style with an emphasis on learning to read music and gaining expertise on a specific instrument. However our teachers are also well versed in other genres and provide instruction in those styles as the opportunity arises. Instruments covered by our program are flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and guitar. Our teachers are professionals and are equipped to teach beginners through advanced students.
