Helping PAWS is a group of dedicated animal lovers who both raise money and rescue animals. Helping Paws is a unique organization as it first sets up and maintains online auctions with 100% of the proceeds going to various rescue groups and animals in need all over the country. We not only help ourselves, but we help others! Secondly, Helping Paws has the tendency to rescue animals in need of medical attention that would otherwise result in them prematurely reaching the rainbow bridge due to costs. No animal is put into a kennel; they go straight into fostering to be rehabilitated. Surgeries, up-to-date shots, spay/neutering, grooming, and general pet care add up for a small rescue like ours.
One special dog came to Helping Paws in March 2025 after an urgent call from a volunteer at The Animal Protection League in Anderson, Indiana: Jerri. She had come in as a stray and was not returned to her owner due to her poor condition. She was underweight, and both of her eyes were in bad shape. On top of that, she was extremely stressed in the shelter environment, and her mental health was rapidly declining. Helping Paws agreed to take her and immediately took her to the vet, where she was diagnosed with having entropion in both eyes. Entropion in dogs is an eyelid abnormality in which the eyelid rolls in on itself. Because the eyelid is rolled inward, the eyelashes and hairs on the eyelid rub on the cornea (the outer, clear layer of the eye). The rubbing of the hairs on the cornea can cause pain and corneal ulcers (cores) if untreated, but thankfully we were able to have them surgically corrected before any permanent damage was done. Now, she is happy, healthy and looking for her forever home!
Please feel free to look at our website, www.helpingpawsonline.com, or on Facebook where we have over 15,000 followers. We also have an amazing Facebook Page for families who have adopted from Helping Paws. Check it out at: “I Adopted from Helping Paws”. As the event gets closer, we will be naming our silent auction donors between dog posts, so you will get exposure.
Helping Paws assists special dogs like Jerri, and many others. 100% of the money raised from this auction will go directly to the dogs.
Items will be continuously added to this site up till the auction starts. If you have questions during the online bidding, call Christa at 317-407-4914 and she will do EVERYTHING she can do to assist you!
