Applause is the parent booster organization that supports the curricular and extracurricular musical education programs at Lake Forest High School for band orchestra and choir.
2024 APPLAUSE AUCTION & SPAGHETTI DINNER/CONCERTS
This annual community-wide event offers the school and wider community the opportunity to come together for a band/orchestra concert and a choir concert, as well as concerts of small music ensemble groups, including the jazz band, Madrigals and Bel Cantos singers, Holiday Winds, and Holiday Brass.
Funds raised through this event help support the music department and students in a number of ways:
- Need-based grants for private lesson instruction for students enrolled in an LFHS music program
- Summer music scholarhsips to encourage participation in organized summer music camps and programs
- Private music instruction for students who agree to switch from their primary instrument in order to help balance the ensemble
- General grants requested by music faculty to help cover the cost of equipment or events outside of the normal Music Department budget, such as master classes, guest conductors, commissioned music, workshops, and musical outings
- Excellence in Music Awards, provided to distinguished seniors annually.
