Fifth Street Ministries is here to compassionately serve men, women and children who find themselves homeless, hungry or victims of domestic and/or sexual violence. We serve by providing clothing, food, healthcare, and safe sanctuary. We advocate for change and offer hope.

Currently, we have four main programs: shelter services which includes the Community Kitchen, My Sister’s House, veterans transitional housing, and the PATH house. In FY 2022-2023, we provided:

  • 52,482 meals    (19% increase)
  • 2,282 food boxes    (new program)
  • 147 emergency shelter guests 8,131 shelter nights    (a 4% increase)
  • 464 night shelter guests for 11,744 shelter nights     (a 36% increase)
  • 156 My Sister’s House guests for 6,576 nights    (a 13% and 86% increase respectively)
  • 46 Veteran guests for 1,487 nights    (a 92% and 90% increase respectively)

Fifth Street Ministries must rely on the support of our community—businesses, individuals, churches, civic groups, and schools. While we receive some grant support from the state and from local foundations, it is truly community support that allows us to sustain and to expand programs to meet emerging needs.

The “Christmas in July” event is our largest fundraiser of the year and is designed to help our ministry get through the lean summer months when we typically receive less in the way of financial contributions and material donations. We are hopeful that you will join us for the Christmas in July event.
