"Celebrate Westminster" Gingerbread House Auction

Welcome to our 2023 YTA-Fridays "Celebrate Westminster" Holiday Gingerbread House Auction!

"YTA Fridays" is a LGBTQIA+ safe space hang-out offered by the PFLAG-Westminster Carroll County at our Unity Center in Westminster, Maryland. Each month, from 20-50 folk gather on separate nights for middle-schoolers, high schoolers and post-high schoolers.

This auction features 25 gingerbread houses representing various Westminster landmarks and businesses. All the houses were decorated by attendees of the YTA Fridays program and their loved ones. The houses also include gift cards and other items donated by local businesses and individuals.

Online bidding will begin on December 10th and end December 17th. 

All proceeds from the auction will be directly applied to the operation of the YTA Fridays program. 

PFLAG-Westminster Carroll County is a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. All winning bids are tax-deductible above their stated value to the extent provided by law.

This year, the Carroll County Arts Council has graciously offered to host our silent auction the weekend of December 16th-17th,  so you can see the houses in-person! The Carroll County Arts Center will be open on Saturday December 16th from 10am - 4pm. The houses will also be available for viewing on Saturday and Sunday during the weekend performances of "A Charlie Brown Jazz Christmas, featuring the Eric Byrd Trio". Click here for directions.

 

Important Information About Bidding, Pickup and Payment

  • By placing a bid, you are agreeing to pay for that item if you are the winning bid. There are no refunds, returns, or cancellations.

  • You must be able to pick up your gingerbread house from the Carroll County Arts Center (91 West Main St, Westminster MD 21157). Unfortunately, we cannot ship or deliver items. 

  • Winning bidders will be alerted by e-mail when the auction closes.

  • Payment is due at pickup if paying cash or check, or before pickup if paying by credit card or PayPal.

  • More details about pickup will be sent to winning bidders at the end of the auction.

How to Bid in the Online Auction

  • Click here to view all the houses. Then scroll through the gallery and click on individual houses to see more details.

  • When you've found a house you wish to bid on, enter your amount and click the "Bid!" button.

    • "Auto-Bid" - If you prefer, when someone outbids you, the system can automatically re-bid on your behalf. Your new bid will increment by the minimum amount. The system will stop re-bidding when the price reaches the amount you indicate. 
    • "Buy Now" - If you just can't bear the thought of losing the bid on this house, you can click the "Buy Now" button to end the auction on the house by paying the indicated amount.

  • You will be asked to create a bidder account. This will also allow you to monitor the items you’ve bid on, and be notified if you are out-bid.

  • At the end of the auction, top bidders will be notified via email to arrange pickup time and payment. You can pay securely on the auction site via PayPal (accepts all major forms of credit card and bank account) or by cash or check in person at the time of pickup.
