Bear Lake Watch is going to honor the legacy of Merlin Olsen with a Summer Golf classic on July 13, 2024 at Bear Lake West in Fish haven, Idaho.
The work that Bear Lake Watch continues to perform on behalf of Bear Lake is essential. Through the generosity of our hole sponsors, donors and golfers, the annual Merlin Olsen Summer Classic has cleared more than $717,000 to help fund specific scientific research projects. These projects are helping to keep Bear Lake Clean…Deep….and Blue allowing many more generations to enjoy its natural beauty!
Audience: Bear Lakers – Everyone who loves Bear Lake whether they’re from the local area, or from across the country including businesses, community leaders, families and friends. Come play golf, or just join us for the Bear Lake Watch reception, Auction and our Elegant Picnic.
Purpose: To see that Merlin's love for Bear Lake is both honored and perpetuated through an annual summer event that brings together like-minded people for fun, fellowship and fundraising.
The Net Proceeds from The Merlin Olsen Summer Classic help provide funding for credible research on Bear Lake and the surrounding environment performed under the direction of The Bear Lake Scientific Research Committee.
Results: The money raised with the MOSC has been leveraged into more than $1,100,000 of projects on and around Bear Lake with a variety of collaborative funding partners, including the US Geological Survey, PacifiCorp, Utah State University and the states of Utah and Idaho.
Bear Lake Watch is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
