About Waikato Equitherapy

Waikato Equitherapy provide therapeutic horse riding sessions to children with special needs. We keep our fees as low as possible to remain accessible to all families, so fundraising is essential to maintain our services.

 

Our Charity Quiz Night is our biggest annual fundraiser. This year, funds raised at our Quiz Night will help care for the therapy horses who make our work possible, by supporting two vital needs: emergency medical horse care and essential gear replacement.

 

By bidding, donating, sponsoring or taking part on the night, you are helping protect the horses who give so much — and the riders whose lives they enrich.

Event details

 

·       What: Charity Quiz Night & Silent Auction

·       When: Thursday 20 August at 6.30pm

·       Where: Speight’s Ale House, Hamilton

·       Cost: $30 per person, 2-8 people per team

Note: you do NOT need to attend the Quiz Night to bid in the auction. Whether you are joining us for a fun quiz night, or cheering us on at home, a local Waikato resident or you live elsewhere in New Zealand, everyone is invited to browse the items and place bids.

NOTE: Bidding closes at 8.15pm on Thursday 20 August 2026.

 

How to view items:

·       Select “All” in dropdown menu above, or select by category.

·       Items can also be viewed in person at the Charity Quiz Night on Thursday 20 August, from 6pm – 8.15pm.

 

How to bid:

1.       REGISTER online with BiddingOwl. It’s quick, easy & free!

2.       BID on your favourite items!

3.       You can place auto-bids once an opening bid has been placed. A handy option during the quiz!

4.       Once the auction closes, if you are the successful bidder, check out and pay, or speak with the event organisers if you’d prefer to pay with cash or bank transfer.

 

If you're not the winning bidder, how about making a small donation instead? Simply click on Donate, then follow the instructions. Or if you're at the Quiz Night, chuck a few dollars in our donation bucket! Every little bit helps! Thank you. 

 

Important Notes:

·       Successful bidders can collect their items at the Quiz Night, once payment is confirmed, or make alternative collection arrangements with event organisers. Note: electronic vouchers will be emailed out the day after the quiz.

·       You must be 18 years or older to bid on items that include alcohol. ID may be required.

·       A 5% fee will be added to all winning bids at checkout. This small surcharge helps to cover some of our processing and transaction costs. Thank you for your understanding.

·       This is a CHARITY auction. If you win an item, please be prepared to pay for it. If not, your bid will be forfeited and the item will go to the next highest bidder.
