PETERBOROUGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA’S

A CHRISTMAS GIFT AUCTION

Giving is better than receiving. (Or so they say.) Start your gift buying early and support the Peterborough Symphony at the same time. You may even buy a gift for yourself!

This special hybrid auction will begin online at 1:00PM on October 16, 2024 and bidding will continue online until 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Beginning at 6:30 PM that evening, you will be able to continue bidding in person at the PSO concert. Final bidding will close at the end of the post-concert reception in the Cogeco Studio.

If you are interested in a particular item, your alternatives are to bid "big" before 4:00 on November 2nd or purchase tickets and join us for the first concert of the PSO season. One of Canada’s foremost piano virtuosos, David Jalbert will be joining the orchestra that evening. To learn more, please visit our website.

We could not have a successful auction without the support of our generous donors and bidders. Thank you all!

The PSO was founded in 1967. Today, it is an orchestra comprised of professional and high-level locally-based volunteer musicians. As well as producing five main stage concerts each season, the PSO celebrates its mandate to bring music to our local communities. In collaboration with the Peterborough Public Library, PSO musicians held our first “Instrument Petting Zoo”. Within days, other libraries reached out wanting to duplicate the event. In April 2024, the first Intermediate Band Day since before COVID took place at Lakefield District Elementary School. This event brought together over 160 students from six schools to be coached by PSO musicians, to perform as school band ensembles, and to collaborate with PSO Music Director and Conductor, Micheal Newnham for a mass band performance in front of a live audience of students, teachers and parents. Last season, chamber ensembles from the PSO performed afternoon concerts at Activity Haven and Maple Ridge Seniors Centre as well as visited seniors in Lindsay, Curve Lake and Port Hope. Your support helps makes this possible.
