Welcome to the Save the Forest

Summer Auction Fundraiser!

Questions about bidding?

You can view the items without creating an account. But, you will need to create an account on BiddingOwl if you wish to place a bid.

BiddingOwl will automatically assign you an anonymous public-facing ID to bid with. Auction organizers will have your contact information to contact you if you win an item.

Instructions on creating an account here. (Or click on 'Bidder Login').

We recommend using Auto Bid to bid (not the Bid function). Auto Bid will start your bidding at the lowest possible winning value (Auto Bid = "Ebay-style" bidding). (The regular "Bid" function will bid whatever value you enter.)

Some items have a Buy Now price.

BiddingOwl will only ask you to enter payment information if you win an item.

Send any questions to us at advocacy@nemtforest.org.

Why are we fundraising?

The Friends of Wakefield’s NEMT Forest nonprofit organization was formed in 2022 to support scientific study of and public education about the NEMT forest. The auction proceeds and donations will ensure that efforts to preserve the remaining forested wetlands at the NEMT (Northeast Metro Tech) forest continue, most significantly through funding the expert scientific analysis which provides essential facts and expert opinions to the appeal by the Ten Residents of Wakefield of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)The Ten Residents' appeal asserts that, by overturning the Wakefield Conservation Commission's denial of the NEMT building plans, the DEP did not enforce the state’s Wetlands Protection Act. Today, the wetlands are temporarily protected while the appeal is underway before the Office of Appeals and Dispute Resolution (OADR). We hope, and believe, the Residents' appeal can positively impact future projects in the state and impact how MassDEP conducts its evaluations going forward.

Tax-exempt status

The Friends of Wakefield's NEMT Forest, doing business as "Save the Forest" (and Build the Voke" / Coalition") is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization status. Your donations will be tax deductible to the extent allowable under 501(c)(3).
