Leilão de peças doadas por diversos artistas para angariação de fundos para enviar 100% do valor angariado para organizações que fazem trabalho de campo em Gaza e na Cisjordânia: ELE ELNA ELAK, Gaza Soup Kitchen, The Sameer Project, SkatePal, Seeds of Hope Educational Tent e Animator Hanneen e outras instituições que venham a ser solicitadas pelos artistas que doam os seus trabalhos.
Há excepções: Nas peças dos artistas PALESTINIANOS (Gaza Biennale collection e Mohamed Harb), o valor da licitação base irá directamente para eles, e só o excedente será doado às instituições acima mencionadas.

Os pagamentos podem ser feitos através de transferência bancária ou Mbway
NOTA: o valor dos envios das obras são orçamentados caso a caso.
As entregas em Lisboa poderão ser gratuitas, caso o comprador se possa deslocar à Casa do Comum, ou outro local no centro da cidade, em data e hora acordada com a organização. Entregas fora deste âmbito são da responsabilidade do comprador e serão orçamentadas tendo em conta o local de entrega, dimensões e peso da obra a enviar.

Auction of works by various artists to raise funds to send 100% of the proceeds to organizations that do fieldwork in Gaza and the West Bank: ELE ELNA ELAK, Gaza Soup Kitchen, The Sameer Project, Seeds of Hope Educational Tent and Animator Hanneen and other organizations that will be asked by the artists that donate their work.
There are exceptions: For pieces by PALESTINIAN artists (Gaza Biennale collection e Khaled Jarrar) the base bid amount will go directly to them, and only the surplus will be donated to the above-mentioned institutions.

Exhibition - October 8, 9, 10 and 11 at Casa do Comum, in Lisbon
Payments can be made via bank transfer or Mbway
NOTE: the shipping costs are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Deliveries in Lisbon may be free of charge, if arranged at Casa do Comum, or another place in city center, with date and time agreed between the organization and the buyer. Deliveries outside this scope are the responsibility of the buyer and will be quoted taking into account the delivery location, dimensions and weight of the work to be sent.
O que pode a arte?
Em Outubro de 2023, o território palestiniano, conhecido como Faixa de Gaza, foi brutalmente invadido por Israel, que aproveitou um ataque terrorista do Hamas para legitimar esta acção genocida, procurando manipular a opinião internacional numa tentativa de colar o Hamas ao povo palestianiano. Esta ocupação territorial tem mais de meio século, como a História o vem mostrando. E a chacina chegou ao extremo.
Arte Pela Palestina é uma iniciativa que, como afirma a organização, "nasceu como um gesto artístico e solidário" e que continua a "afirmar-se como espaço de resistência e mobilização". As propostas são diversas e estendem-se pelos domínios das artes visuais - no âmbito das quais se destaca o leilão solidário, mediante o qual as pessoas poderão adquirir obras de artistas, contribuindo, deste modo e com a receita gerada, para a ajuda humanitária em Gaza -, assim como performances, cinema, concertos, conversas e partilhas várias.
E, neste contexto, a pergunta ganha necessidade intrínseca: o que pode a arte? A arte é a construção humana que nos retira da ignorância e do obscurantismo. Sim, vivemos uma nova época das trevas, materializada no genocídio de Gaza, mas também, à sua escala, na ascensão da extrema-direita por todo o mundo que se pensava civilizado. Civilizado quer dizer antibarbárie, democrático, iluminado, humanista e onde há lugar para todas as pessoas. As Luzes da Razão estiveram na origem da queda dos estados absolutos, inaugurando o que se creditou ser um mundo melhor, igualitário, livre e fraterno.
A guerra de hoje é, portanto, literalmente entre a iluminação e o obscurantismo. E é nesta luta que a arte desempenha um papel preponderante, inclusivamente, quando a política não quer ou não sabe mais.
A arte recorda-nos o que nos distingue, isto é, o que faz de nós humanos. Estamos aqui, e sempre, nesta batalha.

What Can Art Do?
In October 2023, the Palestinian territory known as the Gaza Strip was brutally invaded by Israel, which used a Hamas terrorist attack to legitimize this genocidal action, seeking to manipulate international opinion in an attempt to conflate Hamas with the Palestinian people. This territorial occupation has lasted for over half a century, as history has shown. And the massacre has reached an extreme.
Art for Palestine is an initiative that, as the organization states, "was born as an artistic and solidarity gesture" and continues to "establish itself as a space of resistance and mobilization." The initiatives are diverse and span across visual arts—within which the solidarity auction stands out, allowing people to acquire works by artists, thereby contributing through the generated revenue to humanitarian aid in Gaza—as well as performances, cinema, concerts, discussions, and various forms of sharing.
In this context, the question becomes inherently necessary: what can art do?
Art is a human construct that lifts us out of ignorance and obscurantism. Yes, we are living through a new dark age, materialized in the genocide in Gaza, but also—on its own scale—in the rise of the far-right throughout a world once thought to be civilized.
Civilized means anti-barbaric, democratic, enlightened, humanistic, and where there is space for everyone. The Enlightenment was the foundation for the fall of absolute states, ushering in what was believed to be a better, more equal, free, and fraternal world.
Today’s war is, therefore, quite literally a war between enlightenment and obscurantism. And it is in this struggle that art plays a central role—especially when politics refuses or no longer knows how.
Art reminds us of what sets us apart—what makes us human.
We are here, and always, in this battle.
