Will you help us protect our precious wetlands, forests, trees, and wildlife? We are raising funds to support a group of intrepid citizens and their efforts to save the remaining forested and wetland areas of the unique NEMT Forest in Wakefield, MA, from further destruction and development. Follow their efforts here.


The Friends was incorporated in 2022 to promote, develop and provide continuing support for the preservation, scientific study of and public education about the natural heritage of the pristine NEMT forest and wetlands at 100 Hemlock Road in Wakefield, MA. That mission continues today in supporting ongoing scientific study of the site as well as supporting the appeal of MassDEP SOC by Ten Residents of Wakefield. 

Friends of Wakefield’s NEMT Forest, doing business as “Save the Forest” (and Build the Voke"/Coalition")) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, which can receive grants from a donor-advised fund (if you, or a family member, or other “friend” has established one), or for you to make a personal donation and receive an acknowledgment of your tax-deductible gift.
