Auction Rules & Helpful Tips

We’re excited to be hosting our auction on a true ‘auction’ site vs Facebook this year!  There are some cool new features (i.e. Auto-Bid, email and text notifications, etc.) and a few minor process changes, so please read below before participating.

  • Auction Runs from Aug 31st at 7pm to Sep 7th at 7pm
  • Account creation is required to make a bid
  • Payment may be made via credit/debit card or Paypal 
  • You can set up email and SMS (text) for status notifications
  • Local pickup of all items (except gift cards/certificates) is PREFERRED
  • Shipping will be offered on an exception basis - contact fundraising@bfpa.org to make arrangements and to get shipping cost calculation. Please note, NOT all items can be shipped.  Shipping details are listed in each item's description.
  • Please consider adding small donation to cover Bidding Owl and PayPal fees totaling ~7% of total when you check out :)
  • Winners are determined automatically by the timestamp determined by the Bidding Owl platform.  BFPA is not responsible for internet and platform performance issues that lead to missed bids
  • Note that Higher dollar items may have higher bidding increments

 

Helpful Tips

  • Enter phone number during profile create and enable SMS (text) and/or Email notifications if desired
  • Make sure and check spam and auto-created mail categories (i.e. promotions, offers, social) for emails coming from Bidding Owl.
  • Add items to your Watchlist to know when you’ve been outbid.
  • Auto-Bid Feature (optional):  Enter the max/highest amount you are willing to bid on an item.  Bidding Owl will automatically bid the next increment amount up to your max. 
  • To view Bid History, Watchlist items, etc. - click the dropdown on icon in upper right of the screen at any time.

Auction Item Payment and Pickup

Winners will receive an automatic notification via email after auction close with a link to pay online via credit/debit or Paypal.  All payments must be made online by Wednesday, Sep 9th by 6pm.  

Winners may PICK-UP their items between 1pm and 3pm on Saturday, Sep 12th OR Sunday, Sep 13th - A Location in Cary is TBD closer to Auction Start Date.  You do not need to specify which day, we will have all items available both days.
