Au Revoir Ferry Queen Auction
Canoe Island French Camp's 2024 Online Fundraiser
Welcome to Canoe Island French Camp’s 2024 online auction! For this event, we are continuing a multi-year fundraising campaign for the Ferry Queen's replacement. For over fifty years, the Ferry Queen has proved our workhorse of a vessel transporting campers, staff, and supplies to and from Canoe Island. Unfortunately, the Ferry Queen spent most of our last programming season on land following mechanical failure in June. Repairs were completed this fall and she is ready for one final summer with us.
CIFC's next vessel is under construction with Munson Boats, an esteemed local boatbuilder based in Burlington, WA. We're deeply excited about the new boat's aluminum hull and twin engines. We also have spent hours comparing cabin designs and are pleased with the final decision-- one that maximizes safety, comfort, and utility. We are also incredibly grateful for our community's generosity; thanks to our supporters we have already raised tens of thousands of dollars for this important project. The new boat will be ready for campers by spring 2025. For more info about this project, please click here.
We would like to express our gratitude to the many businesses, organizations, and individuals who donated auction items. Your generosity is inspiring, and we appreciate your support of our cause. We would also like to thank in advance all the CIFC community members who participate in the auction. All proceeds from items will go towards our replacement boat; your contributions will have a lasting and meaningful impact on generations of campers, visitors, and staff for decades to come. Merci beaucoup!
For those who wish to contribute to camp in a different way, we have curated a wish list of programming items that will directly benefit campers this summer. These items can be found under the “Fund-a-Need and More” category on the left side of our page. This year our list features art supplies, fencing equipment, a replacement fleet of kayaks and paddles, hammocks, and everyone's favorite, tetherballs. We hope you will consider making a donation that would allow us to purchase one or more of these items.
When the auction closes on the evening of Sunday March 17th at 6pm Pacific Time, all winning bidders will be sent an automated email from BiddingOwl inviting them to check out. Simply follow the link within this email to check out using PayPal, or as a guest. Physical items will be mailed to winning bidders and digital certificates will be emailed. Domestic shipping costs are flat rates that are listed for each physical item. Any supplementary international shipping costs will be invoiced to winning bidders.
In accordance with IRS guidelines, winning bidders may claim a charitable contribution deduction for the excess of the price paid for an item over the item's retail value. For items with a retail value listed at "Priceless", the difference between the amount paid and the starting bid is eligible for a charitable contribution deduction. All donations of funds for camp equipment (i.e. fencing gear, kayak paddles, etc.) are 100% tax deductible.
We may limit bidding to supporters that are associated with our organization. We reserve the right to delete bids from supporters that are not part of our community.
Lastly, if you wish to make a direct donation to Canoe Island's Ferry Queen replacement fund or one of our other funds, click the "Donate" button on the left side of the page. Thank you for your generous support that helps us provide a fantastic summer camp experience for kids!
