Dans le Mille: An Auction for Archery on Canoe Island

CIFC's 2026 Online Fundraiser

Canoe Island is back with another online auction! This year, by participating you’re helping rebuild one of camp’s most beloved experiences: archery.

Our current range is decades old and in need of an update. Campers share paper targets on hay bales that quickly break down with constant use. Every group looks forward to archery, but the space no longer matches the quality of the experience that campers deserve.

With the help of caring supporters like you, we’re building a new, sustainable wooden structure using Canoe Island lumber, with six professional-quality targets and new bows sized for campers of all ages. This project will cost about $14,500, and it will only happen through the generosity of this community.

Archery is an essential part of the French Camp experience, connecting campers to the cultural history of France, as well as a unique physical and mental challenge. Your support through CIFC’s online fundraiser will impactfully build our new archery range, greatly enhancing the camp experience through one of our most popular activities.

There are several ways you can support Canoe Island and the new archery range today!

  • Purchase Raffle Tickets: Co-Executive Director Margaret Schafer has created a gorgeous topographic map of Canoe Island, built to scale and mounted on leftover slate from the construction of the island’s incinerator. Raffle tickets are available for $20 each, and proceeds will fund the new archery range. Only 100 tickets are available, so get yours today! A winner will be selected randomly following the close of the auction.
  • Fund-A-Need for Bows and Arrows: Our new archery range wouldn’t be complete without new bows and arrows, and with the Fund-A-Need option, you can directly support these purchases. Excitingly, we will expand our range of bow sizes to better accommodate campers of all sizes.
  • Raise-The-Paddle for the New Archery Range: Your generous support is what will build the new archery range, one piece at a time.

Bidding on auction items will be open from Thursday, February 26th at 8am until Sunday, March 1st at 6pm

Canoe Island’s community, including you, is what brings magic to Canoe Island. Thank you for creating meaningful, empowering, and life-changing experiences for campers! We are so grateful for your generosity and dedication to our mission. Merci beaucoup!
