Tuscaloosa’s One Place invites you to a powerful celebration of fatherhood through art and storytelling. As part of our Fathers in the Park event, we are proud to feature a silent art auction showcasing an original piece by Jarvis Jackson—a father of six, a gifted artist, and a participant in our CHAMPS Fatherhood Program.
Jarvis’s artwork is a deeply personal reflection of his journey to rebuild trust, presence, and love within his family. His piece honors the transformation that comes from showing up—consistently, wholeheartedly—for the people who matter most.
The auction opens Saturday, June 7, following Fathers in the Park, and continues online via Bidding Owl through Father's Day. All proceeds benefit the CHAMPS program, which equips fathers like Jarvis with the skills and support needed to reconnect with their children and thrive as parents.
Bid on a story. Bid on hope. Bid on a future shaped by love and second chances.
The Shelter” by Jarvis Jackson — A Father’s Heart on Canvas
Created live at Fathers in the Park, “The Shelter” is more than a painting — it’s a testimony of transformation, love, and the enduring power of fatherhood. Artist and CHAMPS participant Jarvis Jackson, a father of six, brings to life his personal journey through this deeply moving piece. Once facing distance and hardship, Jarvis found healing through the CHAMPS Fatherhood Program — and now, he uses art to express what words often cannot.
In “The Shelter,” Jarvis paints the kind of father he’s become: a safe place, a steady presence, and a source of strength for his children. The image is simple, yet profound — a father as a home, a protector, and a guide.
Bid on more than a painting. Bid on a legacy of love, resilience, and hope.
