BiddingOwl Presents: BiddingOwl: Free Charity Fundraising Auction Software

The Figments Youth Dance Ensemble is a unique non-profit pre-professional modern dance company that gives young dancers between the ages of 10 and 18 the opportunity to express themselves by creating and teaching their original choreography. Founded in 1993 by Heidi Klecak, Figments Youth Dance Ensemble began as a drama program of the Hartford Childrens Theatre. In its first season, the nine members produced a concert that included nine original pieces. Since then, the company has become an independent entity, with membership increasing yearly.

The dancers are mentored in choreography skills, improvisation, and performance skills. Rehearsals take place from September through January, with a winter concert in the end of January, showcasing original choreography by the ensemble. Figments Youth Dance Ensemble brings dancers from across Connecticut together so they can collaborate with peers who share their passion for creative movement.

 

HOW TO SUPPORT

Figments has been a beacon of creativity and expression, enchanting audiences of all ages for over 30 years, and leaving a lasting mark in our dance community. However, as we know, the arts often face financial challenges that can hinder the growth and sustainability of such organizations. Any dollar amount will help our organization continue to grow.

Fund-A-Dance is one  way to support our organization.  The Company Supports itself in small part though student tuition an tickets sales. “Fund-a-Dance” is an auction, where potential funders attempt to outbid each other to win the honor of funding a piece of choreography to be created by a young artist. 

Each choreographers piece is up for auction.  You can watch a video of the choreographers addressing the audience, describing their vision and showing a piece of their work. Bidding will closed at 7pm on Sunday December 17th and the winners will be announced! Names of funders are listed in the program at our Winter Show in January. All donations are tax-deductible.
