Description

Rich in history and culture, Old Wethersfield village has long been the heart of Wethersfield and a destination for seekers of classic New England village charm.
161 Main Street has been beautifully restored while preserving so much of its history.
The E.G. Robbins House, was originally built by Elijah Wright around 1790. Wright served as a militia captain in the Revolutionary War. The house was extensively remodeled in 1850, by the seed company owner, Silas W. Robbins and later owned by his brother, Edward Griswold Robbins (E.G Robbins).
It was later the Pyquaug Inn, and was the venue for many special occassions and weddings of Wethersfield and the surrounding area.
The Charles, named in honor of the owners grandfathers, carries on the tradition of serving as a place to gather and celebrate.
