The Latin text is from Psalm 72 and was likely to have been sung in a Benedictine monastery as part of the Liturgy of the Hours. Measuring 19 x 28 inches in size, this calf-skin vellum showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of its time. The large format would have allowed the choir to read this single document from a distance. Its simple black frame (25.5 x36 inches) reflects the solemn nature of the scripture.
