Description
The Battle of Lake Erie, fought just 50 miles away from the ANS' new headquarters in Toledo, Ohio, was one of the most consequential American victories of the War of 1812. In 1860, the Kentucky legislature passed a resolution honoring the brave Kentuckians who helped secure the lake from British forces. When the medals were finally bestowed in 1867, however, only six of the original recipients were still living. This white-metal medal was designed by George H. Lovett (1824-1894) and measures approximately 1.6" in diameter. * Following the auction, winners will receive an invoice for their winning bid and shipping costs.
