Issued in September of 1909 by the Society of Colonial Wars, "The Colonial Washington" plaquette has proven to be elusive today. Sculpted by James Edward Kelly, this rendition of George Washington is after the painting by Charles Willson Peale at Mount Vernon in 1772. Today, perhaps no more than a dozen of these cast plaquettes are known to have survived, with the most recent sold by Stacks Bowers Galleries in November of 2025. 130mm x 91mm.* Following the auction, winners will receive an invoice for their winning bid and shipping costs.
