Alabaster Evening

Framed, original watercolor by local artist, Linda Lane (1937-2015), of Northport, MI. Frame measures approximately 27x31. Linda always had a bright idea. Many of her paintings pop with her use of color and you could see she had a sunny disposition. Try as she would to commit it to paper, not one media was enough to express the beauty she saw in nature and of course cats. How does one capture the uncapturable? Cat lovers, as we all know, things are on their terms. That didn’t stop Linda from catching a few precious moments and movements. A graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, University of Miami (FL), Parson's School of Design, NYC and the Art Students League, NYC she worked mainly in acrylics and watercolor. Her work has been described as surreal or abstract and it is certain to take you to a place, a feeling or an atmosphere that tells a story or takes you on a journey. She will always be remembered by all who knew her as a kind and gentle spirit that tread lightly on this earth. She took great joy in the simplicity and beauty of the natural world surrounding her. Linda had an innate artistic gift that represented itself in many various mediums her entire life. We hope sharing these works to raise funds for our furry friends not only honors her memory but brings you joy.
