Description
Arthur and Elizabeth Thorn (Evergreen Gatehouse) Framed Print
In 1980, Evergreen Cemetery superintendent Arthur Kennell began placing bluebird houses throughout the cemetery’s grounds. For over forty-five years, approximately one hundred bluebirds fledge each year from the boxes at Evergreen, increasing the population of bluebirds on the Gettysburg battlefield. This photograph, taken by John Albani in May, 2025 captures a male bluebird resting on the statue of Elizabeth Thorn just inside the entrance way through the historic Evergreen Cemetery Gatehouse.
A reminder of the balance of nature, beauty and history at Evergreen.
20" x 19" - matted and framed by Gettysburg Custom Framing.
