Description
Arthur Wardell (1864-1949) was a well-known British artist who specialized in portraying domesticated and wild animals. He exhibited his first painting (Cattle by the River Thames) at the Royal Academy at age 16, and his works, executed in oil, watercolor, or pastels, soon became fashionable. This pair of Gordons show typical English Gordon type in the earlier 20th century. This 5” x 7” black and white print comes in a 9.5” x 12” frame.
