Astilbe Acrylic on board by Maxine Manges

This beautiful 18" by 18" painting created by artists, Maxine Manges. Maxine is a good friend of the Community Arts Center with a long history of donating her work and time to us. For many years Maxine has watched artists work, looked at great painters and bought and sold their work. For much of that time she has bottled a burning desire to be on the other side of the canvas, making my own art. Now she finds herself painting again, and the influences although wider and more current, are oddly familiar. Despite herself she works spontaneously and waits and watches for the painting to tell me where to go next.
