About the Artist:
Austen Goldsmith is an experienced fisherman by trade and a long standing analogue photographer based in Porthleven West Cornwall. It is here in his practice, studio and darkroom that he synthesises his intimate knowledge of the Cornish coastline with his technical skill as a printmaker into beautifully crafted silver gelatine and platinum palladium prints.
About the work:
We are honored to have been kindly donated the first edition of this amazing image shot on Porthleven Beach; then split printed; selenium toned; sepia toned and finally mounted on board by the Artists; This epic work is a stunning example of craftsmanship and the awe inspiring atlantic ocean in full heaving; thick lipped tempest; embodied in the works title 'Wild Horses'
This print along with; additional work of Austen Goldsmiths, Archibald Robinsons and Nick Pumphrey's are available for viewing upon request at our 'Friends of Cornwall Community Darkroom' exhibition at Toner Gallery (61-62 Chapel St, Penzance TR18 4AE) until the 30th of January 2026
