Description
Commemorating the 2001 - 2002 “Catching…The Harbour” event, this poster from the Australian Museum highlights the artwork of 19th century Dutch artist Pieter Bleeker. Bleeker was famous for the Atlas Ichthyologique des Indes Orientales Néêrlandaises, his monumental work on the fishes of East Asia published between 1862 and 1877. Species on this poster include Fan Belly Leatherjacket, Orange-Line Wrasse, Sargassum Anglerfish, and Purple Rockcod. Framed and ready to hang, this piece measures approximately 35” x 13.5”. Perfect for an angler or art “a-fish-ionado”! Some reflections on the glass are not present on the actual item, which is in very good condition.
