Ch. Marquis

This small (7”l x 4.5”h) print in a 10’ x 8” mat shows Ch. Marquis, who was owned by T. Jacobs. The printed is taken from a drawing by RH Moore and probably served to illustrate the Gordon Setter in a book. Marquis was whelped in 1877 in the UK. He was a half-brother to Argus, the first AKC champion Gordon Setter, as both were sired by J.S. Niven’s import, Ch. Blossom.
