This iris was a gift to Charles Cresson by the late Graham Stuart Thomas, friend and preeminent English author and horticulturist, when he visited his garden in 1993. If it was in Graham’s small 3rd and final garden, then he thought it was truly special. This iris was discovered by Sir Fredrick Moore, former director of the Glasnevin Botanic Garden in Dublin, Ireland and named for his wife in 1943.
This purplish-blue iris often produces planate flowers with 6 falls (complete with beards) rather than the normal 3 falls and 3 standards. Graham noted that it is inconsistent, but even when producing normal flowers it is a good garden plant, well-proportioned and always holding its flower stalks upright! Not the same as the similarly named ‘Lady Mohr’.
4 inch container. Clump may not bloom until established
