This was truly the best vacation I didn't know I needed. The house was spectacular; comfortable, high-end, welcoming, and stocked with absolutely everything we could have needed. But the setting was what really made it special. It was so peaceful and private that most of the time we felt like we had Graham Lake completely to ourselves. We woke up to blue herons along the water and even watched a momma fox and her kit playing on the beach. Honestly, we could have stayed at the cottage the entire week and still had an amazing vacation. Our whole family loved it! Of course, we did venture out and had some incredible Maine adventures! We took a private chartered boat tour out of Bar Harbor where we saw porpoises, seals and all kinds of marine life, played putt-putt at Pirate's Cover, and ate plenty of ice cream, and enjoyed some of the best lobster imaginable. We explored Acadia National Park and made our way to Sand Beach, but one of our favorite finds was the quieter Schoodic side of Acadia near the Schoodic Institute and Rockefeller Hall. We climbed over the rocks, watched the waves crash against the shoreline, and took in some absolutely stunning view without the crowds. I truly can't say enough good things about this cottage, the location, or our trip. Paula thought of everything, and we are already talking about when we can go back.
