Now that I live in the UP, I paint in oils my favorite subjects, birds!, as much as I can. Painting is an admittedly newer passion of mine; one that started as a personal protest against AI "art". I use my skills to support the birds that inspire me, by keeping feeders full, planting more native plants on my property as finances allow, and donating to various conservation organizations and/or rehabbers. I try to capture the individual, highlighting unique expressions that are not commonly noticed. My hope is that seeing them as the individual little intelligent and beautiful beings they are inspires people to care more for our feathered neighbors.
