Print de ensaio. / *** BIO: Cristina Sampaio licenciou-se em pintura, mas sempre preferiu a área da ilustração e do desenho satírico. A partir de 1986 os seus cartoons são publicados em revistas e jornais, nacionais e internacionais. Merecem destaque Expresso e Público, Courrier International e Alternatives Economiques (França), Kleine Zeitung (Áustria), The Boston Globe e The New York Times (EUA). Está representada em inúmeras publicações colectivas de ilustração e de cartoon. Integrada no colectivo Spam Cartoon, realiza curtas de animação de comentário político para o canal televisivo RTP3. O seu trabalho foi apresentado em numerosas exposições colectivas e individuais, em Portugal e no estrangeiro, A sua obra de cartoon foi alvo de várias exposições retrospectivas, a destacar, Bedeteca de Lisboa, 2001, European Cartoon Center, Bélgica, 2019, Casa da Cultura, Setúbal, 2019 e Casa da Imprensa, Lisboa, 2024. É detentora de diversos prémios, com destaque para o Prémio Stuart de Desenho de Imprensa na categoria de melhor cartoon em 2006 e 2010; o 1º prémio na categoria de cartoon editorial do World Press Cartoon em 2007, onde também recebeu menções honrosas em 2009, 2015, 2021 e 2022; o 2º prémio Libex, Itália, 2022. Em 2023 foi distinguida com uma menção honrosa do World Press Freedom Canadá. Em outubro de 2025 receberá o Prémio Carreira da Bienal de Ilustração de Guimarães. *** BIO: Cristina Sampaio graduated in painting but has always preferred illustration and satirical drawing. Since 1986, her cartoons have been published in national and international magazines and newspapers, including **Expresso** and **Público** (Portugal), **Courrier International** and **Alternatives Économiques** (France), **Kleine Zeitung** (Austria), **The Boston Globe**, and **The New York Times** (USA). She is featured in numerous collective publications on illustration and cartooning. As part of the **Spam Cartoon** collective, she creates short animated political commentaries for the television channel **RTP3**. Her work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad. Several retrospective exhibitions of her cartoons have been held, notably at the **Bedeteca de Lisboa (2001)**, the **European Cartoon Center, Belgium (2019)**, the **Casa da Cultura, Setúbal (2019)**, and the **Casa da Imprensa, Lisbon (2024)**. She has received numerous awards, including the **Stuart Award for Press Drawing** in the category of Best Cartoon (2006 and 2010), the **1st Prize for Editorial Cartoon** at the **World Press Cartoon** (2007), as well as **honorable mentions** in 2009, 2015, 2021, and 2022. She also received the **2nd Libex Prize** (Italy, 2022) and an **honorable mention** from **World Press Freedom Canada** in 2023. In **October 2025**, she will be honored with the **Career Award** at the **Guimarães Illustration Biennial**.
