Though built just after the war, rarely does an old stone barn sit on the grounds of a national landmark, much less than one that changed the course of American history. Military historians have called the time when Washington and his army crossed the Delaware the first "turning point of the American Revolution." The ferry master, who owned this farm, played a pivotal part in this crossing. Maintained well today.  This painting can be seen at the Pump House Center for the Arts, located in Chillicothe, Oh.
