Description
The winemaking philosophy at Culmina revolves around two principles: gentle handling of fruit and minimal intervention of wine. Employing a combination of traditional practices (hand picking and sorting, and basket pressing) and leading-edge technologies (cone-shaped, stainless steel tanks) to preserve the beautiful, natural character of their wines.
This isn't just an auction item. This is living history of Culmina's story,
Hypothesis (2018): Opulent and refined, the bouquet brings complex aromas of cedar bark, leather, cocoa nibs and dark cherries. The generous palate is layered with succulent dark fruits, licorice and baking spice supported by balanced acidity and silky tannins. The nuances unfurl gradually over a long and persistent finish.
No.020 Perle de Rose - Sparkling Wine (2022): Pale rose gold in colour, a vibrant, lively nose brings aromas of pink lady apples, stone fruit and freshly baked biscuits. The mouthfeel is rich and textural with fresh acidity carrying strawberries and cream notes. The fine mousse carries bright red fruits through a lively, fresh finish.
Decora Riesling (2014): An intensely focused and bright Riesling, Decora is characterized by distinct chalk and grapefruit aromas, accented with delicate spice, stone fruit, and white flower notes. Whetting the appetite with lively acidity, Decora first hits the mouth with wonderful nectarine flavours, followed by an integrated palate of mineral and citrus, and a dry, energizing finish.
Note: The Number Series (Perle de Rose in this grouping) are premium wines of interest from a given vintage, some of which may only ever be released once. Each small lot is assigned its own unique numeral and is differentiated by terroir characteristics along with innovative viticultural and winemaking techniques. Given the very limited availability of these distinctive wines, priority access is given to Wine Club members.
