Helen Butler creates contemplative paintings inspired by atmospheric colour and light and the beauty found in the fleeting and the ethereal.
Her work is informed through artist residencies, travel and periods of meditation retreat. Responding to colours witnessed at a particular moment, the works are then made slowly from multiple layers of oil paint into their own presence and radiance of colour. Helen is from London, UK, and currently based in Portugal.
