Description
In 1775, at the beginning of the American Revolution, British forces attempted to capture a supply of weapons stockpiled by the colonial militia in Concord, Massachusetts. Fortunately for us, they were roundly defeated and forced to retreat - a scene that was beautifully captured in this print engraved by James David Smillie (1833-1909) and printed by Johnson, Fry and Co. in New York in 1858. The print has been conservation framed in UV protective glass, and measures 9" x 7.5" (unframed) or 16" x14" (framed). * Following the auction, winners will receive an invoice for their winning bid and shipping costs.
