Chase Stroud Bio: Chase Stroud is a determined Special Olympics athlete and advocate for his fellow teammates in Iredell County, NC. Competing in tennis, bocce, basketball, bowling and most recently in powerlifting with Special Olympics North Carolina. Chase has been training and competing for 9 years and proudly holds gold medals in basketball, skiing, swimming, sailing and bocce. He represented North Carolina in the 2018 USA Games in Seattle Washington while competing in bocce and securing a silver medal. Recently, Chase has taken on other roles in Special Olympics and currently holds the Vice Chair position for the Athletes Leadership Council as well as serving as a Global Messenger, Athlete Ambassador, and certified games manager. He enjoys speaking and taking on roles that assist in his primary goal to advocate for the special needs community. When he isn’t in the gym, you can often find Chase creating and improving his skill shaping clay in the pottery barn. He specializes in taking everyday flowers and leaves from his own yard and surrounding woods then creating beautiful pottery from nature’s designs. He draws inspiration from nature’s colors and textures and loves experimenting with different glazes.
