Description

This gorgeous set includes a large bowl and a pair of curvy spatulas, all made of madrona wood from Canoe Island—priceless mementos of an incredible place.

The bowl showcases beautiful natural color variations, having aged in log form on the island for several years. As is typical of madrona turned with some remaining moisture, the wood has settled into its own unique shape. The rim undulates slightly, and the bowl is an inch longer than it is wide. There are also remnants of a knot in the side of the bowl; it’s recommended to use this bowl for special occasions rather than daily use.

The spatulas are also madrona; the wood was protected during the drying process so retained its natural color. Both exhibit lovely radial grain running the length of the spatula. These are very durable kitchen implements, they have a lovely sway in the handles and slight bowlish curvature in the spatula section.

All are finished with walnut oil and completely food safe. To prolong their life, hand wash with a mild detergent. Re-oil as necessary if the wood starts looking dry.

Bowl diameter varies between 9 3/4" and 10 3/4" and it is approximately 5" tall. The spatulas are 13" long with the widest point of the spatula being 2 1/2".
