"Here Comes Bill" by Deb Mellom

This stunning painting by alum Deb Mellom is titled “Here Comes Bill” or “Bill est ici.” The work, measuring 12” by 12”, is made of acrylic on canvas and will be framed with a natural wood or white in a floater frame. The scene will be beautifully familiar to any current or past CIFC camper. Of her work, Deb writes, “Sometimes the fondest memories of Canoe Island in the 70s and 80s were the sights and sounds we experienced every day. I would often hear the Ferry Queen rounding the north end of the island in the morning before I could see it. I thought it was beautiful when it whizzed by, and I would always stop to watch and wave because "Admiral" Bill Westlake was at the helm. I still love the Ferry Queen almost as much as I love the retired Admiral and his legacy.” Take home this memento of paradise!
