She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a major in interior design and a minor in art. Her initial employment involved residential design, which subsequently migrated to the leather industry. Most of her career involved chemical sales, product development, formulating finish systems and creating new effects on leather for the fashion, automotive and furniture industries where she focused on creating new effects for leather in the furniture industry. That employment required worldwide travel until her retirement in 2011. She currently spends her time attending painting workshops locally and abroad in Italy and France. She paints with oils, acrylics, watercolors and pastels. Mixed media is a new area of interest. Her skill and talent have been rewarded with recognition in regional art competitions.
