Intro to the Cello

Description

Curious about the cello? Karla Holland-Moritz would love to teach you all about this lovely instrument. In this private 60-minute, introductory class, you will learn how to sit with the cello and draw beautiful sounds out of the instrument. Karla loves to introduce adult beginning students to the cello, offering them the pleasure of making music with a professional cellist - no music reading skills required! 


Karla will have a cello, bow, and appropriately-sized chair for you to use during your lesson (located in a private music studio in W. Mt. Airy). You are welcome to bring your phone to make a video or audio recording of your lesson for your personal use if you wish. If you choose to take additional cello lessons with Karla, she will guide and accompany you on your journey of renting or acquiring an affordable instrument with a beautiful sound.


Karla is a retired San Diego Symphony cellist with 33 years in the cello section. She has many years of teaching experience, and last year I spent 3 weeks teaching cello in Suriname to eager cello students, including a teacher trainee.
