Vintage Hand-Signed Fine Art Photography by Robert Sturman
Late 1990’s
This early-career work by acclaimed American photographer Robert Sturman captures a masterclass in composition, translucent lighting, and high-contrast negative space.
Sturman specialized in hand-manipulated Polaroid emulsion techniques. This dreamlike, ethereal texture was created by manually scoring the film's chemical layers as it developed. This tactile art form became entirely obsolete when Polaroid discontinued its original film lines. He is now globally recognized for his iconic figurative and yoga portraits.
Hand-signed by the artist in pencil, beautifully double-matted, and sleekly framed, this 11.5" x 16" piece is a timeless nod to experimental photography.
