About the work: "I liked the image of the cow because at first glance it’s as if you’re looking at a cliff view, the hair on the animal has the texture of the sea and the hard edges feel sharp and rocky - the horse accompanied it because I saw a conversation between the two images about framing plant life against animal hair"- Jay Izzard When we asked Jay if he’d be willing to donate some of his work; he kindly went into to his physical archive and hand printed a special edition of two photographs in the darkroom. From a holiday on a friends farm in Morvah and Pendeen ( just minutes from our rural community darkroom) these print reflect the tranquility of our West Penwithian summer days in their calm renditions of leaning horse and foxglove; paired with the Zen eyed beauty of a blinking cow on summer pasture.
