Description
This is a full day, 100% supervised, hands-on wildlife experience for 2 children aged 8-14 years. Does a child/young teen you know ever wondered what it's like to work with wildlife as a Wildlife Rehabilitator? Do they have a deep desire to help animals in need? Are you looking for that perfect gift for them that is a meaningful and exciting experience they will never forget? Two lucky children will have the rare opportunity to join our team as Junior Wildlife Rehabilitators, under the protective wings of Monika Melichar - zoologist and founder of WWS. They will learn so much about our native wildlife; what they eat, how they live, what their personalities are like, and will be taught, hands-on, how to feed and attend to the many orphaned and injured wildlife babies. PLUS ** A WWS T-shirt, WWS sticker and a Certificate of Accomplishment will be given to each child as a memento of their day! PLUS ** We will issue you a CRA REGISTERED CHARITABLE RECEIPT for your winning bid exceeding $150! This wildlife rehab experience is valid for any mutually agreed-upon day in June, July or August 2026. Approx. timeframe: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Bring own lunch/snacks. Winners can pick up auction items at the sanctuary on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays anytime between 10 am and 5 pm. Unless you make arrangements with us, all items must be picked up by December 31st, 2025; otherwise, they will be forfeited. Free shipping on all tickets, gift cards and gift certificates (by mail or email). We are also providing a free, one-day-only pick up in 3 locations. You must email/call us to let us know you will be there; otherwise, we will not bring your items! **Minden: Thursday, Dec. 4th at 11 am, Foodland parking lot (off Hwy 35). **Haliburton: Thursday, Dec. 4th at 1 pm, Upper Library parking lot (off York St.). **Bobcaygeon: Sunday, Dec. 7th at 12 pm, Tim Horton's parking lot (off East St. S.).
