Description
Stephenson County, IL. 11x14". This stone barn displays the legacy of the Lamm family, whose heritage traces back to 1848, when Georg T. and his wife Gertrud Lamm founded this farm. Chances are that they started out with a timber-framed barn, which housed livestock and crops. Fourteen years later they had become prosperous enough to build this stunning stone barn in 1862, one of only a few stone barns still existing in the state. This painting can be seen at the Oregon-Jerusalem Historical Society, located near Toledo, Oh. Call with questions 419 902-5149
