Lucille Cowle (Daland) Swim School: Two Months of Swim Lessons

Enjoy two months of swim classes at Lucille Cowle Swim School in Burbank, plus a basket of fun swag! Daland Swim School is a family-owned business, founded by Ingrid Daland who, after 15 years of teaching and coaching in Westlake Village, opened the doors to Daland in 1987. Since then the school has taught over 100,000 students to swim. Our facility was designed by Lucile Cowle and built by her husband Johnny in 1963 specifically for teaching young children how to swim. We have two outdoor pools that are larger than residential pools and much smaller and less intimidating than competitive training or lap pools. Both pools have large shallow areas to help new swimmers feel comfortable. The small pool is 3' at its deepest and the larger pool has a diving board. The pools are maintained at 90º to eliminate the shock of entering the water and help swimmers to relax and breath more easily. There is covered seating around the pools so you can always see your swimmer and hear what their instructor is saying. We have private changing booths, a changing table, gender separate restrooms, a family restroom, and showers. Our restrooms and offices were remodeled in 1989 and pools resurfaced and re-tiled in 2010. There is ample street parking within a block of the swim school and we are across the street from a small community park. We hope that you will come visit us.
