Now working out of his recently opened Toner Gallery in Penzance; where he simultaneously explores new avenues in his own practice; whilst supporting other makers of all levels to develop and experience fresh approaches to photography and physical media. About the work: Perhaps taking stock of skills learnt in photographing the American landscape, Matt's deadpan rendition of hay bales, hand printed in the darkroom, distills a ubiquitous symbol of rural life into its most essential textures and forms.
