*** Mohamed Harb é um artista visual e cineasta palestiniano, nascido na Cidade de Gaza, onde ainda vive e trabalha atualmente. Obteve a licenciatura em Belas Artes pela Universidade Nacional An-Najah, em Nablus, em 2001, e é membro da Associação Palestina de Artistas Plásticos desde 2003. Atualmente, trabalha como realizador no Canal Espacial Palestiniano, em Gaza. Harb iniciou a sua trajetória artística em 1995, explorando inicialmente o campo das artes visuais, antes de expandir, nos últimos anos, o seu trabalho para a fotografia, a videoarte e o cinema documental com enfoque artístico. A sua obra é profundamente influenciada pela realidade palestiniana — tendo vivido a Intifada, o bloqueio e as guerras sucessivas — algo que se reflete claramente na sua produção visual. O seu trabalho aborda com ousadia a monotonia e a dureza da realidade, tentando reformulá-la através da cor. As suas peças distinguem-se pelo foco no corpo humano oculto e nos seus detalhes intrincados, utilizando a forma, a luz e a tecnologia como ferramentas expressivas. Apesar do “arresto domiciliário” imposto pelo bloqueio, Harb participou em inúmeras exposições, festivais e oficinas artísticas, tanto a nível local como internacional, na Europa e no mundo árabe. Recebeu também diversos prémios e bolsas internacionais por projetos realizados dentro e fora de Gaza. Mohamed Harb é considerado um dos principais artistas contemporâneos palestinianos na área da videoarte. Possui uma imaginação visual rica, que combina sensibilidade estética com técnicas digitais contemporâneas. É igualmente reconhecido pelo seu papel ativo na organização de exposições de arte e oficinas colaborativas com artistas locais e internacionais. Um dos seus projetos mais recentes e de maior destaque é o documentário artístico **“Gaza – A Biography”**, que tem sido exibido em várias cidades árabes e europeias. Através deste projeto, Harb procura apresentar uma imagem verdadeira e vibrante de Gaza, sob uma perspetiva humana e artística. Além disso, é fundador e supervisor-geral do **Festival Internacional de Videoarte – Gaza**, que se realiza pelo terceiro ano consecutivo e é considerado uma das iniciativas mais importantes para o desenvolvimento da arte visual contemporânea na Palestina. He obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from An-Najah National University in Nablus in 2001 and has been a member of the Palestinian Association of Fine Artists since 2003. He currently works as a director at the Palestinian Space Channel in Gaza. Harb began his artistic journey in 1995, initially exploring the field of visual arts, before expanding in recent years into photography, video art, and documentary filmmaking with an artistic focus. His work is deeply influenced by the Palestinian reality, having experienced the Intifada, the blockade, and repeated wars, which is clearly reflected in his visual production. His work boldly addresses the grayness of reality and attempts to reshape it through color. His pieces are distinguished by a focus on the hidden human body and its intricate details, utilizing form, light, and technology as expressive tools. Despite the "house arrest" imposed by the blockade, Harb has participated in numerous exhibitions, festivals, and artistic workshops both locally and internationally, in Europe and the Arab world. He has also received several international awards and grants for his projects executed inside and outside Gaza. Mohamed Harb is considered one of the leading contemporary artists in the field of video art in Palestine. He possesses a rich visual imagination that combines aesthetic sensitivity with contemporary digital techniques. He is also known for his active role in organizing art exhibitions and collaborative workshops with both local and international artists. One of his prominent current projects is the artistic documentary "Gaza – A Biography," which has recently been showcased in various Arab and European cities. Through this project, he aims to present a true, vibrant image of Gaza from a human and artistic perspective. Additionally, Harb is the founder and general supervisor of the "International Video Art Festival – Gaza," which is being held for the third consecutive year and is considered one of the most important initiatives contributing to the development of contemporary visual art in Palestine.
