This commemorative work was specially commissioned to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This particular print captures the delicate, waxy blooms of the mountain laurel, a quintessential flora of the Smokies, in Gray’s signature evocative style. Professionally framed , this piece is part of a strictly limited edition run, making it a rare find for collectors of regional history and fine art. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Listed by his studio with a value of $1000, the print is no longer available for sale there. Renowned artist Jim Gray (1932–2019) was a celebrated figure in the Southern art community, famously leaving a successful advertising career after a 1966 visit to the Smokies to dedicate his life to painting their "foggy hills". His mastery of the region’s light and color earned him Tennessee’s Distinguished Artist Award and saw a photograph of him in his studio selected for NASA’s Voyager Space Probe.

SHIPPING - While local pick up is preferred (to be arranged with TC Paw representatives), this auction is open to the general public outside of our local area as well.  TC Paw will ship items at the request of the winner, but the winner will pay all packaging and shipping costs.  We will assess the packing and shipping costs and notify you.  Payment for shipping must be made prior to the item being shipped out.
