Description

Original fused glass artwork by local artist, Diane Enger of Time & Again Designs. This work titled "Mountain Magic" features an intricate forest and mountain design highlighted by vibrant shades and metallic accents. The piece is made to be illuminated by adding an LED candle or other light source from behind for added effect. Dimensions: 11" x 7". Glass fusing is a process of combining different glasses and components and heating them in a kiln. By manipulating time and temperature, different depths and surfaces can be created. www.timeandagaindesigns.com Diane Enger has been fusing glass for more than 30 years. After receiving a master's degree in art, she taught in the Illinois Public School System, Kindergarten through Junior College, as well as gifted classes. She retired, with her husband, to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and finally has the time to be a full-time artist. Diane's work has been exhibited at several galleries, art council showings and selected exhibitions. Glass has an intrinsic reflective nature, and her work plays with this quality by combining the glass with other materials or creating different textures and surfaces on the glass by using a variety of techniques and firing schedules. Working with glass in this way can enhance or contrast its reflective quality. Inspired by the world around us, she utilizes the patterns and textures of our natural surroundings in her glasswork. Her artwork is influenced by the magic of the mountains and world that we live in.
