Holy Name School's junior high students can participate in the Kentucky YMCA Youth Association's Kentucky Youth Assembly, which occurs each December.  The Kentucky Youth Assembly, or KYA, is an educational opportunity in which students serve as part of a model state government. KYA offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide range of civic issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their civic and political vision, while engaging with their peers from around the Commonwealth of Kentucky.  Students from Kentucky middle schools come together to present bills to the mock house and senate and even elect a KYA Governor.
