Description
Artist: Anneliese Host
At 94 years old, Anneliese Horst brings a lifelong love of language and creativity to her paper art. Raised in Chile and now residing in Charlotte, North Carolina, she is a member of the Guild of Charlotte Artists.
Developed by Pavel Piskarev, Neurographica is a mindful drawing practice that turns free-flowing lines into an intricate network of connected shapes. The artist draws lines across the page, then gently rounds the sharp corners where they intersect. Color can be added to bring different areas into focus, creating a composition that sometimes resembles the branching connections of nerve cells. In Neurographica on Magazine Page, Anneliese brings this approach to an everyday printed page, giving it a new artistic life.
Her work is a beautiful reminder that curiosity and creativity can flourish at every age.
Medium: ink on magazine paper
